my first love.

I’m Caroline Meehan, the owner of Caroline Meehan Designs. I’ve spent over 10 years helping friends and family make interior design decisions and I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and open my own design business. After a career in educational publishing product marketing (with a heavy side of copywriting), I’m thrilled to ditch corporate America and be my own boss. What’s more, I’m beyond excited to spend time doing something I love so deeply.

My love affair with beautiful homes began the first time I remember setting foot in one; my great-aunt Betty’s house was built in 1904 on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River on the site of Camp McClellan, a former Union army training camp. The neighborhood is now on the National Register of Historic Places. It was a colonial- and from the triple-hung windows to the butler’s pantry and the millwork and the stained glass windows and the circa-1920’s sunroom, I didn’t stand a chance.

Even now, I’ve never stopped appreciating the little details that make a home special. My designs incorporate those details without feeling too precious. Everyone deserves a beautiful home, and I want my clients to feel comfortable and happy in each of their spaces. As a wife and mother to three young children, my aesthetic reflects a need for comfortable, casual, colorful design to complement everyday life. A house should feel like home- and a home should feel lived-in (in the best possible sense of the word). Caroline Meehan Designs was born of a desire to help people create spaces which truly reflect their personalities and their lives.
